Production Assistant
Timberline Studio is a diverse team telling emergent stories in beautiful and stylized worlds. Our first release was The Red Lantern, a story-driven dog-sledding game. Our team is comprised of industry veterans and those that are newer to game development and we pride ourselves on building up new talent. We are seeking curious and imaginative people to join our team and help us develop our next title.
We are looking for a Production Assistant to help coordinate documents, tasks, meetings, notes, and more. This is an entry-level position with room to grow within the studio for the right candidate. You will learn on the job working directly with our CEO/Producer to build your production skills and learn more about game production. The ideal is candidate is detail oriented, proactive, has strong communication skills, and is enthusiastic about game development and the minute details of how to get things done.
This posting will be active from February 2nd to March 2nd. We will review all applications received during this time and will provide responses to those we’d like to move forward with by the end of March 4th.
This position can be remote or in person. Candidates in/near (+/- 3 hours from) the Los Angeles time zone are preferred.
Responsibilities:
Assist with managing task lists, backlogs, and sprints to make sure nothing is falling through the cracks
Take notes during meetings and create documentation for future reference
Convert slack conversations into documentation
Research a variety of topics from outsourcing studios to playing reference games to other things as they come up.
Coordinate meetings, emails, and other administrative tasks for the production team
Assist with budget management and purchase tracking
Assist with customer support queries and document feedback and bugs for the team to tackle
Assist with office management, QA (we all play our games to test), and other departments as needed
Set up playtests and gather player feedback
Requirements:
Passion for lists, notes, organizing, and keeping things tidy and visible to everyone
Proactive attitude and able to self-manage
Collaborative and supportive mindset
Be adaptable. As a small team we all look for ways to help each other
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Excited to learn about all facets of game development!
No previous game experience needed. This is truly an entry level position.
Bonus
Graphic design or digital art experience
Interest in social media and marketing indie games
Video content creation or streaming experience (or an interest in building those skills)
Already knows game production software (Jira, Confluence, Google Sheets/Excel, Trello)
Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and skilled with presenting information in an engaging and clear way
Understanding of automation methods for tasks and linking information
Live in the Los Angeles area
We Offer
Competitive Salary - ranging from ($31,200 - $41,600 for Los Angeles applicants) depending on location and experience. Open to international applicants as contractors.
